In Tibetan Buddhism, Mt. Amnye Machen is considered as one of the sacred mountain. The holy mountain lies in Qinhai Province with an altitude of 6282 meters above sea level. The mountain covers with snow for all the year round. Yet, you could view wonderful landscape of huge grassland, nomads and wild-life flowers. Every year, thousands of pilgrimage visit this holy mountain to worship and pray for good luck and prosperity. If you are an explorer and adventurous then this trek is just a personification.
Note: If your arrival time is different from others and you don’t want to wait for the free shuttle bus, then we can arrange private airport pick up/transfer for additional cost CNY400. It is free for train station pick up / transfer. Please let us know your arrival time and detail information of flights/train.

Since Xining is quite a busy city, we are taking a quick escape towards one of the most beautiful lake in the world. You will be driving to the largest salt lake in China, Kokonor Lake (Chinese: Qinghai Hu). This lake is also considered as sacred and historical place for Tibetans. This exploration gives you a good chance to experience the diversity of nature. Your guide will help to interact with locals to hear more interesting stories. After this beautiful start up of the trip, we are driving to Chabcha town. You will be given instructions on rest of the trip.

Today, we are driving to Tsarnak through the highway lead to the Northern part of Mt. Amnye Machen where we will start our trekking. Tonight, we will get chance to have a close observation of Tibetan nomadic life as we are camping side by side of them. Prepare yourself by mentally and physically for trekking.

Trekkers! We are climbing up to Mt. Amnye Machen and will cross Tamchok Gongkar Pass which is the highest pass of it. This pass raised up to 4700 meters. From this peak, we could view amazing panoramic scenes of the holy mountain. You did great job! Tonight, we are camping at Langri-chu and enjoy the galaxy. You could almost touch the sky and catch your stars.

Today we are climbing down to the rock valley nearby Mowathowa. This valley is differently beautiful to be enjoyed. Especially, during snowing it makes more beautiful to view.

Trek Day 3 will be very interesting and feeling the most accomplishment as you will reach the most unique spot of the Amnye Machen halfway Kora Trek. We are visiting the Meditation Caves and the cliffs of Goku Thang Valley. It is to belief that these are to mark the entrance to the palace of the protector Machen Bomra (another name of Mt. Amnye Machen. Learn these interesting mythology stories from your knowledgeable guide.

Today we are climbing down to Jomolangra Valley through Chushen River gorge. There, our driver will be waiting us to pick up. Amnye Machen trek is officially end from here. You can also trek down to Lower Tawu if you wish and still have stamina. We will be staying overnight in a guesthouse, Lower Tawu.
