Itinerary

Day 1Arrival at Lhasa

You will be greeted by our Tibetan guide and driver who will transfer you to your hotel in Lhasa city. Check in the hotel and take it easy for the rest of the day to acclimatize and alleviate the jet lag.

Accommodation: Lhasa.

Day 2Lhasa: Jokhang temple and bustling Bakhor street and Sera monastery.

In the morning our guide will meet you at the hotel and guide you to Jokhang Temple in the heart of the Old Lhasa city. Jokhang temple is one of the most scared temple in all over Tibet and it is always busy with earnest local pilgrims since from early days. Followed by walking around Bakhor street which is the one of the most devotional circuit as well as crowded central market of Lhasa. Since from the days back, it is the most famous local market. The pleasant day will end with a visit to the Sera Monastery, it is built in the fifteenth century by the Jamchen choji Sakya Yeshi who is disciple of Tsongka pa, few different monastic colleges in Sera is home to several hundred monks from different part of Tibet. You can witness the most interesting event of the monastery, Buddhist philosophical debates among the monks in the afternoons except Sunday. Continues acclimatize and alleviate jet lag rest of the day.

Day 3Lhasa: Potala Palace & Drepung monastery

We are visiting the most famous epic of the Tibet this morning. Potala Palace is the cardinal landmark of Tibet and the masterpiece of Tibetan architecture, it was first built by 33rd King Songtsen Gangpo in 7th century and later in 17th century rebuilt by 5th Dalai Lama, since then it was home to the Dalai Lama and his government. In the afternoon, we will visit the Drepung monastery, once the world’s largest monastery that housed for more than 10,000 monks, it was resident of the Dalai Lama prior to Potala Palace. By walking through numbers of narrow and twisted lane of monks’ apartments which are thrilling. Continues acclimatize and alleviate jet lag rest of the day.

Day 4Lhasa - Palde Village(3950m), 150km, 4 hours drive. Attractions; Yamdro lake, Palde nunnery, typical Tibetan village

Today we are driving away from the Lhasa inner circuit toward South West for a adventurous overnight camp at Yamdro Lake. After driving up to the Kampa la pass (4700m), we could suddenly spot a breathtaking glimpse of the holy Yamdrok lake with its turquoise color with snow capped Mt.Nyenchen Khangsar. From there, it takes only few kilometers to our campsite, an open area next to the lake and adjacent to the Palde village. Of course! We are walking around the village to visit Palde nunnery in the village which will put us in an another chapter of experiences.

Day 5Palde Village - Gyantse (3900m) - SHIGATSE(3900m), 350 km, 7hrs.

Attractions; Yamdrok lake, Mt.Nyechen Kangsar glacier, Gyantse Kubum stupa and Pelkhor Choede monastery
Early in the morning, you would like to see the villagers doing different ritual activities in at a sacred spot behind the village. Trip continues to Gyantse after breakfast, enjoy the many magnificent valleys and exquisite Tibetan villages we pass through, en route we will stop at Karo la (5150m) to see the holy mount Nyenchen Kangsar glacier. At Gyantse, we are visiting Kumbum stupa and Palkhor Choede monastery. You would be attracted to it’s unique infrastructure from outside and magnificent old sculptures and paintings inside the stupa. Late afternoon, we are driving to Shigatse which is only 90km away from Gyantse.

Day 6Shigatse - Lhasa, 280km, 4 to 5 hrs

Today we are heading back to Lhasa along the Northern friendship highway, the road cuts through numbers of villages. We will have a quick stop at Nyimo local home based incense factory, this region is well known for their incense production since centuries ago, they use primitive water operated tools to process incense materials and each incense sticks are hand made. Then, we continue our trip to Lhasa. Evening is all yours to enjoy your leisure around Lhasa.

Day 7Departure

Today our guide and driver will send you off to the airport or train station and depart to your next destination. The trip end officially. Thank you for choosing us!
