Itinerary

Day 1Holy City, Lhasa

Our guide will receive you and deliver you to your accommodation in Lhasa City. Remember that you are in the world plateau, so it is important to take it easy as much as you excited to explore around. Take very good rest, sleep and drink plenty of water to avoid altitude sickness, dehydration and jet-lag.

Day 2Lhasa; Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple, Barkhor Street, Ramoche Monastery

Get ready after your breakfast at hotel to sneak in the real mystery of Lhasa, “Place of God’. You will be escorting towards majestic Potala Palace, mystic Jokhang Temple, hustling bustling Barkhor Street and Ramoche Monastery by our fluent English speaking and knowledgeable tour guide.

Day 3Visit Drepung and Sera Monasteries

Today you will be arranged to visit Drepung and Sera Monasteries. Both Drepung and Sera monasteries are Gelugpa (yellow hat) sect monastic colleges. Drepung monastery was the seat of the Government prior to Potala, it was once the world’s largest monastery in the history with 10,000 monks hailed from different monasteries all over Tibet. Sera monastery is famous for its Buddhism philosophical debate practice.

Day 4Lhasa (3650m) - Namtso Lake (3718m) via Nyenchen Thanglha Range 

Namsto Lake is the largest lake and also one of three sacred lakes in Tibet. The direct translation of Namtso in English is “Sky Lake”. The melted snow from Nyanchen Tanglha Mountains is the primary resource to the lake. Apart from Namtso’s wonderful Geographical views, people attract it’s natural habitats of rare water birds like swans, egrets, sand birds, scaleless fish and huge grassland to herd yaks and sheep. Some wild animals like fox and black bears habit around the area of lake. Lunch will be enjoyed at this paradise like Lake.

Day 5Lake Namtso (3718m) - Lhasa (3650m) via Yangpachen Hotspring (B)

Have a good time at the at the shore of beautiful lack and you can also enjoy a short trek along the lake to Tashi Dor Island to explore the meditation caves. Drive to Dumxung to have lunch.
In the afternoon, you may visit Yangpachen hot spring (Optional). There you can have a shower either at indoor or outdoor swimming pool filled with hot spring water.

Day 6Lhasa (3650m) to Nyingchi (3100m) and Visit Mila Mountain Pass, Basum Lake (B)

This morning, we are driving through the National Highway No. 318 from Lhasa to Bayi Town (Nyingchi). On the way, we will be crossing thorugh the Mila pass (5013m) and reach to Kongpo Gamda town.
Followed by heading towards the Basom Tso/ Lake which is situated 360km in the East of Lhasa. Basom Tso Lake is elevated by 3,500 meters above the sea level which originated from Nyching Tangha Mountain. You could beautifully view snow-capped mountains, glaciers and trees reflected in the lake’s rippled surface. There are small islands in the middle of the lake with Lamaist temples built upon them.
Trip continues along the Nyiyang Riveren route to Bayi town.

Day 7 Nyingchi (Bayi): Cypress Reserve Area, Sekyim La pass, and View Mt. Namjia Bawa

This nature friendly sightseeing begins after your breakfast. In the first, we are visiting the Great Cypress Nature Reserve area, which is 15 kilometers Southeast of the Bayi Town. The king cypress in the area is about 50 meters tall and is about 2,500 years old.
Followed by visiting Sekyim la Pass (4720m) and enjoy the great view of Mt. Namjia Bawa (7,700m) from a distance. Then, trip continues to the Lunang Forest which is elevated by 3700m. It is a typical highland meadow strip, both sides are Castle Peaks from low to high from the dense bushes, spruce trees and pine. The distant clouds, the snow-capped mountains, the endless pines and the quiet pasture add your adventure more adventurous.
